About
I have always worked with my hands, observing how nature builds forms, textures and rhythms.
After years working in the floral world, that language is still present in my work, now translated into porcelain.
At María Vergara Lab, I work from real forms, especially vegetables and organic elements that I search for and observe, then interpret and transform into my own moulds to reproduce them through slip casting.
I work mainly with porcelain, creating handmade ceramic pieces in my studio in Spain, seeking to capture the texture, the imperfection and the quiet beauty of nature.
Each piece is made in small series, where the manual process and time are an essential part of the final result.
